April 9 Thursdays from 6-9pm for 4 weeks
This four-week course is designed as an intensive overview of common metalworking tools and techniques. The course will give students a basic knowledge of the material and its inherent properties, uses and artistic possibilities. Students will learn the basic techniques of sawing/filing, soldering, forming, and simple fabrication. Using sheet metal and wire we will make one pierced pendant and at least one ring.
Saturday, April 18 from 10am-1pm
In this one day class you will be learning the basics of working with sterling silver, using various traditional jeweler’s tools and techniques. You will cut, solder, form and finish your very own hammered silver rings. Each student will complete 2 rings. You will be able to choose from two different hammered textures, so you can make a matching set, or two different rings.
