The Channeled Whelk Shell Ornament is made from the molding and casting of a real found busycotypus canaliculatus shell in recycled metal. This is my all-time favorite seashell. A good friend and scientific educator, collected the original shell at Sedge Island Natural Resource and Education Center in the Barnegat Bay of NJ.
Strung on a 4" navy blue, satin ribbon and accented with an 8mm freshwater pearl. The shell is 1-3/8th" long and 1/2" wide.
This design is currently available in solid polished sterling silver or bronze but other metals, and finishes are always possible, message me for custom options and a quote.
All cast ornaments are waxed for preservation and packed in a giftable ornament box. These heirlooms can be altered into a wearable piece of jewelry by your favorite jeweler after the season is done.
