Jewelry Care
GENERAL MAINTENANCE:
All jewelry needs special care, even the “indestructible” kinds! HKM Jewelry is meant to last for generations when proper steps are taken, but natural aging and wear can occur.
Jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off each day; avoiding contact with makeup, lotions and sprays will prolong its finish.
Keeping your polished silver in airtight plastic or in the pouch it was packaged in, is a great way to prevent tarnish when not being worn.
Do not swim in chlorine or saltwater wearing your HKM Jewelry, and it is not recommended to clean or wash dishes with chemicals that can breakdown the metal or soft stones like pearl and turquoise. If you do accidentally expose your jewelry to these elements, follow the guide below to clean.
CLEANING:
All Jewelry can be cleaned with warm water and mild soap and a toothbrush, a polishing cloth will restore shine and help with tarnish on your silver.
I love blue Dawn dish soap, just scrub gently with a toothbrush, rinse, dry well then finish off with a polishing cloth. My favorite polishing cloths are made by Cape Cod Polishing, they have a two part system "wax on, wax off" style and they smell like vanilla!
