The original shell was found on a beach in Delray Beach, Florida. The Ram's Horn Squid is an illusive animal living at depths of 1500 ft. The shell is a hollow thin bone inside the squids head. By filling the shells chambers with gases, it creates a floatation device to raise itself throughout the water column while it feeds.
