The Ark Shell Drop Earrings are made from the molding and casting of a real found Transverse Ark Shell in recycled silver. I collected the original empty clam shell on a beach in Cape May, New Jersey and then sent it to a local, family owned casting company to be cast in multiples of solid metal.

Once the casting is returned, I solder on fixed sterling silver hooks. The Ark Shell Earrings are only 3/4" long and 1/2" wide including hook. This design is currently available in solid polished silver but other metals and finishes are always available, message me for custom options and a quote.

All HKM Jewelry pieces are made to order and properly hallmarked for metal type and stamped for authenticity. Please allow 2 weeks to complete, rush orders are possible but subject to additional costs. Contact me if you need your piece sooner.

The Transverse Ark Clam (anadara transversa) filters salty seas and feeds on phytoplankton, there are about 200 species of Ark Clams worldwide. This species can be found alive up and down the East Coast and into to the Gulf of Mexico. Strong storms have been known to bring empty specimens over to the Pacific Coast beaches.
