The Mini Horseshoe Crab Earrings are made from the molding and casting of a real baby Horseshoe Crab molt in recycled sterling silver.
As the Horseshoe Crabs grow, they shed their exoskeletons, the molts wash up all over the beaches of the world. I was gifted the original molt by a dear friend from New Jersey, where Horseshoe Crabs are known to breed. After casting, I create the tail using sterling silver wire, carefully shaping and forming it so that it has kinetic movement.
The little cast charm measures 3/8ths” wide and 1” long - bail to tail.
This design is currently available in polished sterling silver, but other metals and finished are possible, message me for custom options and a quote. HKM Jewelry pieces are properly hallmarked for metal type and stamped for authenticity.
