The Ram's Horn Studs measure 1/2" long by 1/2" wide and is fixed with sterling silver post and butterfly backs that are larger than normal to accommodate the size of the stud nicely.
A Ram's Horn shell is an unusual find along the shores of the Atlantic. This shell is the chambered internal bone of a deep sea species of squid called the Spirula Spirula who happens to be a close relative of the nautilus. The ram's horn squid is rarely seen in the wild, and it's one of the most unusual cephalopods out there.
The Ram's Horn Studs are made from the molding and casting of a real found washed up Shell in recycled silver. I collected the original shell on a beach in Delray Beach, Florida and then sent it to a local, family owned casting company to be cast in multiples of solid metal. Once the casting is returned, I solder on sterling silver posts.
This design is currently available in polished sterling silver but other metals and finishes are always available, message me for custom options and a quote. All HKM Jewelry pieces are properly hallmarked for metal type and stamped for authenticity.
