The mud snail is also known as a Nassa, Dog Whelk or Basket Snail, is a marine gastropod mollusk in the Nassariidae family that can be found from Canada to Florida.
The Baby Mud Snail Necklace is made from the molding and casting of a real found Threeline Mud Snail shell in recycled silver. I collected the original empty snail shell on a beach in Cape May, New Jersey and then sent it to a local, family-owned casting company to be cast in multiples of solid metal. Once the casting is returned, I solder on jump rings and it is then strung on a 16”, 18”, or 20” sterling silver cable chain of your choice.
The charm is only 3/4" long and 1/4" wide including bail. This design is currently available in solid polished or oxidized sterling silver but other metals and finishes are always available, message me for custom options and a quote.
