sinum perspectivum- White Baby’s Ear
The white baby's ear is a gastropod mollusk in the moon snail family that can be found up and down the Atlantic coast and to Brazil. When alive, the snail's body is 4 times larger than the shell and cannot retract into it, a strange sight indeed. It feeds on other mollusks and lives just below the sand while hunting for clams. Baby's Ear is the birth shell for October.
The Baby's Ear Necklace is made from the molding and casting of a real found baby's ear seashell in recycled silver. This shell was found by a lovely friend in Sanibel Florida. I molded and cast it for her custom and then added this design to my collection, the shell was then returned to her.
The charm is only 1" long and 5/8th" wide and it is strung on a 16”, 18”, or 20” sterling silver cable chain of your choice.
This design is currently available in solid polished or oxidized sterling silver but other metals and finishes are always available, email me for custom options and a quote.
