These Scallop Shell Stud Earrings are made from the molding and casting of real found scallop shells in recycled silver. I collected the original empty mollusk shells on a beach in Cape May, New Jersey and then sent them to a local, family-owned casting company to be cast in multiples of solid metal. The Scallop is the birth shell for November.
Once the castings are returned, I solder on the silver ear post. Finally they are cleaned up and hand-polished with care. Each stud comes with a proper sterling butterfly back ear nut for its post.
These Baby Scallop Studs are only 1/2" long and wide. This design is currently available in solid sterling silver in a polished or oxidized finish but other metals and finishes are always available, message me for custom options and a quote. All HKM Jewelry pieces are properly hallmarked for metal type and stamped for authenticity.
