This cast operculum charm necklace is made from the molding and casting of a found moon snail operculum in recycled silver. An operculum is the "trap door" on the foot of the snail, when fully retracted into the shell it can seal itself shut with its door. A friend collected the original from Barnegat Light, New Jersey. It is then strung on an 18”, or 20” leather chain of your choice.
The charm itself is 1.25" long and 3/4" wide including bail.
This design is currently available in solid, oxidized sterling silver but other metals, finishes, and chains are always available, message me for custom options and a quote.
