New England Sea Glass Necklace and Earrings
After years of collecting sea glass in New England with her children, Amory brought these ideas to me to make special heirlooms out of her collection. The pendant was designed in collaboration with my customer as a gift for her son's girlfriend. The cobalt blue glass was from Maine, and the heart shaped green piece - Cape Cod. We met in the studio and she described her vision while I drew. The finished pendant, strung on an omega slide, is stunning to say the least!
The earrings were another idea she had for her daughter. I used 4 of her near-perfectly matched sea glass for chandelier style hook earrings. After just a few sketches I began to work. The pieces are pierced out in the back of the setting to allow light to pass through, and lighten the weight of the earrings.
I think working with my customers special sea glass is truly my favorite type of custom work. Especially when I can bring their exact visions to life!
"To say that Sue was thrilled with the pendant would be an immense understatement! It really is spectacular and is a real eye catcher even from across a room! Thank you for a beautiful job!" - Amory
