The Auger Shell Necklace is made from the molding and casting of a real found Eastern or American Auger Shell in recycled silver. I collected the original empty snail shell on a beach in Cape May, New Jersey and then sent it to a local, family owned casting company to be cast in multiples of solid metal.

Once the casting is returned, I solder on jump rings and it then string on a 16”,18”, or 20” sterling silver cable chain of your choice. The Auger Charm is only 1" long and 1/8" wide including bail. This design is currently available in solid polished or oxidized sterling silver but other metals and finishes are always available, message me for custom options and a quote.

All HKM Jewelry pieces are made to order and properly hallmarked for metal type and stamped for authenticity. Please allow 2 weeks to complete, rush orders are possible but subject to additional costs. Contact me if you need your piece sooner.

The small Eastern Auger Snail (terebra dislocata) feeds on young clams and marine worms, and grows up to 2 inches in length. They use a venomous harpoon-like stinger to kill and eat their prey. This species can be found alive from Virginia to the Gulf of Mexico, but strong storms and tides can spread empty shells further north or south.
