The Baby Whelk Necklace is made from the molding and casting of a real found Knobbed Whelk in recycled silver. The Knobbed Whelk is the state shell of New Jersey and is native to the Atlantic Ocean and can be found all up and down the coast!
I collected the original shell on a beach in Cape May, New Jersey and then sent it to a local, family owned casting company to be cast in multiples of solid metal. Once the casting is returned, I solder on jump rings and it is then strung on a 16”, 18”, or 20” sterling silver cable chain of your choice. The shell charm is only 1/2" long and 1/4" wide.
This design is currently available in solid polished or oxidized sterling silver but other metals and finishes are always available, message me for custom options and a quote.
