Epitonium humphreysii - Humphrey Wentletrap
The Humphrey Wentletrap Snail is a small predatory sea snail that can only grow up to 25mm long. They can be found in the Western Atlantic from Massachusetts, down through the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. They live in both sandy bottoms and rock beds, they burrow into the mud when the tide is out and feed on detritus. The Wentletrap is the birth shell for April.
The Florida Wentletrap Necklace is made from the molding and casting of a real Humphrey Wentletrap shell that my customer found in the Ten Thousand Islands of Florida. I had it molded and cast in solid, recycled, silver. Once the casting is created, I solder on jump rings and it is then strung on a 16”, 18”, or 20” sterling silver cable chain of your choice.
The charm is 1" long and 3/8th" wide including bail. This design is currently available in solid polished or oxidized sterling silver but other metals and finishes are always possible, message me for custom options and a quote.
