Ovalipes ocellatus - Lady Crab
Lady Crabs are local to the East Coast of the US from Cape Cod to Florida's Gulf coast. They live in sandy shallow waters and are speckled with pink cheetah like spots. Their back legs are called "swimmerets" and they are also called Swimming Crabs in some locations.
The Lady Crab Claw Necklace is made from the molding and casting of a real found crab claw in recycled silver.
I collected the original claw in New Jersey and then make a mold to be cast in multiples of solid metal. I solder on jump rings and rivet in the upper finger so that it moves. It then is strung on a 20” sterling silver reverse rope chain. The Claw is only 1 1/2" long and 1/4" wide including Bail.
This design is currently available in solid polished or oxidized sterling silver but other metals and finishes are always available, message me for custom options and a quote. All HKM Jewelry pieces are properly hallmarked for metal type and stamped for authenticity.
