The Large Horseshoe Crab Necklace is made from the molding and casting of a real baby Horseshoe Crab molt in recycled sterling silver.
As the Horseshoe Crabs grow, they shed their exoskeletons, the molts wash up all over the beaches of the world. I found the original molt New Jersey, where Horseshoe Crabs are known to breed. After casting, I create the tail using sterling silver wire, carefully shaping and forming it so that it has kinetic movement.
This cast charm measures 1” wide and 2” long - bail to tail. It is strung on an 18" sterling rope chain. A mini version of this necklace is also available HERE.
This design is currently available in polished sterling silver, but other metals and finished are possible, message me for custom options and a quote.
