The original shell was found on the beach in Sanibel Island, Florida. The Atlantic Kitten's paw (licatula gibbosa) is a flat - bivalve mollusk in the family, Plicatulidae. This family is a small subgroup of only 16 species worldwide, though it is a very common find along all Florida beaches.
