This Horseshoe Crab Tail Necklace is made from the molding and casting of real found Horseshoe Crab Tail in recycled silver. As the Horseshoe Crabs grow they molt or shed their exoskeletons, the molts wash up all over the beaches of the world. I collected the tail from a beach in Cape May, New Jersey, where limulus polyphemus are known to breed and sent it to my local casting company to be molded and cast in solid metal. Once the pieces are returned, it is cleaned and hand polished with care and strung on a 2mm - 30” anchor chain - new to this design.
The pendant itself measures ¼” wide and 2 ½” long. This design is currently available in either oxidized or polished, solid sterling silver, but other metals are always available, message me for custom options and a quote.
